As we are done playing Holi, you must have colours all on your body, clothes and jewellery. And if you are looking for ways to remove it from your jewellery.

We celebrated the festival of Holi with full fervour and enthusiasm. From applying colours on your friends’ faces to splashing water, you must have enjoyed the festival of colours and are now looking for ways to remove the same from your face, hair, clothes and jewellery

While we love playing Holi, we dread when we have to remove the stubborn colour from ourselves and our jewellery and clothes. While some colours get off easily, there are also a few who take days to get off. While there are many ways to remove colour from your face, clothes and hair, there are only a few options available to remove the same from your jewellery. And if you are looking for those ways, then you are in the right place.

Below, we are sharing with you a few ways by which you can easily get rid of the Holi colour stuck on your jewellery. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Dish soap

Dish soap can easily help you to get rid of the stubborn Holi colour stuck on your jewellery. Wondering how? Follow these steps:

1. Take 1 tablespoon of dish soap

2. Add 1/4 cup of water and mix well

3. Dip your jewellery in the mixture for not more than 7 minutes

4. Take out the jewellery and clean with a microfiber cloth

Baking Soda

Baking Soda is not just for cooking. It can also be used to remove Holi colour from your precious jewellery. Follow these steps to do the same:

1. Take 1 teaspoon baking soda in a bowl

2. Add 3-4 drops of water. Mix to form a paste

3. Take a soft brush and dip it into the paste

4. Gently brush your jewellery using the mixture

5. Later, clean the jewellery pieces with clean water and puff dry

Air dry

Instead of removing the stubborn Holi colour from your jewellery right away, let it air dry. Once it is dry, the colour might automatically dust away and you can get your precious jewellery back.

Toothpaste

Toothpaste can also be used to remove Holi colour from your jewellery. Follow these steps to do the same:

1. Take white toothpaste and apply a dab on your jewellery.

2. Using your fingers, rub the paste gently on your jewellery

3. Rinse with lukewarm water .

Follow these easy steps to remove Holi colour from your precious jewellery. While you may follow these steps, it is still advised to avoid wearing any precious ornament while playing Holi.

How to maintain oxidised jewellery accessories.

It’s not difficult to maintain oxidised jewellery. The fastest and easiest method is with the paste of lemon juice and salt, say experts.

Bhavya Chawla at online fashion store and experts at online craft-based design store share some tricks to maintain oxidised jewellery.

Tricks to maintain Oxidised Jewellery

* Make sure to keep your oxidised jewellery away from moisture. It is suggested to store each piece individually in a zip lock plastic pouch to make sure there is no contact with air.

* When wearing oxidised jewellery, make sure that it does not come in contact with perfume or any cosmetic products. Let your perfume dry before wearing the jewellery .

* If the jewellery does get oxidised further, clean it very gently using dry toothpaste powder and soft cloth to bring back its original sheen.

* Put the jewellery in a bowl of tomato ketchup for 5-10 minutes to remove the tarnish. The acid in the tomatoes oxidises with tarnished silver, which helps in keeping your oxidised jewellery as new as you bought.

* The fastest and easiest method to maintain the jewellery is by using toothpaste. Just rub the white toothpaste on the jewellery and rinse it off with warm water.

* Cover the jewellery generously with baking soda and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with hot water.

How to clean wedding rings at home

Wedding bands have an unfortunate tendecy towards clouding up and collecting grime over time, giving away their sheen to dirt, water spots and more. Aside from wearing them less, which many couples will want to avoid, the solution to this is give them a regular spot clean. People can opt for a professional clean if they want, but there are DIY methods to reclaim a shiny wedding ring.

Cleaning a wedding ring can cost £10 or more, depending on the jeweller. They charge for the cost of using their tools and time and provide the best results. There are several ways people can reach a similar quality of cleaning at home, however.Altogether cleaning wedding rings is a task which should only require 30 minutes.

People will need the following ingredients for the process:

Wedding rings will need to sit in a bath of dishwashing soap and warm water for 30 minutes.

Once they have been submerged for half an hour, a toothbrush should clear any offending marks or grime from the band.

They will need rinsing with warm water once more to conclude the process.

People can use this method to clean any ring, whether gold, silver or inlaid with a diamond.

Can I use bleach on my rings?

Bleach and other chemicals such as chlorine may seem like a no-brainer for cleaning grime.

But while they may be at home in a toilet bowl, these chemicals are too abrasive for wedding rings.

Even substances like baking soda can break down the metal and any inlaid gems over time.

Ultrasonic cleaning

People with extra money who find their rings get dirty constantly can use the ultrasonic method.

Ultrasonic cleaners use sound waves to extract grime from objects without abrasive contact.

These cleaners cost between £40 and £70, and the resulting sheen will rival most jewellers.
